FCS

FSC is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization whose mission is to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable forest management worldwide by developing widely recognized principles and standards for forest management. The FSC is composed of representatives of environmental protection organizations, timber trade associations, government forestry departments, local residents' organizations, social forestry groups and wood product certification bodies from more than 70 countries. Its international center was originally located in the city of Oaxaca, the capital of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, and moved to Bonn, Germany, in February 2003. FSC is a mature and perfect forest certification system.
